Alpha Kappa Psi was founded by a group of young men on October 5, 1904, just 4 years after New York University started offering degrees in Commerce, Accounts, and Finance. These men wanted to help new business people develop good business skills, ethics, and ideals. In these last hundred years Alpha Kappa Psi has expanded all over the country, and even has some chapters abroad in other countries. With over 300 college chapters, and more than 200,000 members, it is still a fast growing organization. Two United States Presidents U.S. President Ronald Reagan (1981-1989) (Alpha Zeta) and U.S. President Richard Nixon (1969-1974) (Beta Omicron) are famous Alumni

Locally, the Eta Theta chapter at Texas Tech University was founded on May 21, 1966, making us the first professional business fraternity on the Texas Tech Campus. Since then we have dedicated ourselves to developing ourselves professionally, and shaping the future business leaders across the globe. Our extensive local Alumni list include Congressman Randy Naugebauer, Tom Craddick and Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance.
